Birthday Magic

Your legal now, abandon cares;
get in there girl and up those stairs.
You pause and shudder; what's in store?
You've never been this far before.
Lick your lips and flick your hair,
do you want this, do you care?
You think about the nights you've cried
you're just a girl, they smiled and sighed.
Well, they can't say that from now on,
and overnight they'll change their song.
You'll show them, you're a woman grown
and by God, your mind's your own;
you'll flaunt and flatter; flirt and poke
and share in every dirty joke
and if the time is right for you,
you'll take a lover; maybe two.
You've snapped the adolescant chain
and nothing now will be the same.
Here I come, they'll hear you scream;
you want it all, you want the cream.
You grab the knob and push it in;
the sudden hush becomes a din.
He grabs you, searching in your eyes;
I love you darling, proudly sighs...
and as the music plays, he'll whirl
his gorgeous eighteenth birthday girl.
