Tilly cut loose from the day
Brightness like a red balloon
Utterances dumbstruck with gravity
Details don’t matter
Holding onto her giggling
A healing prayer
Look at me
Look at me
Look at me
She says
How can I Iook away?
Time crawls to her battle cry
Full fathom hazel eyes
Blink away tears
A defeated joy
Uncatchable and unthinkable
As the mote in God’s eyes.

That's a wonderful opening and a poignant poem, CM.
[I'm not sure she should be reading that book at her age!]

You've caught the magic of
You've caught the magic of being with a little child :0) I loved particularly "Holding onto her giggling" which reminded me how my son could seem made entirely of giggles, how intensely wonderful it was, holding him. And "Full fathom hazel eyes" is beautiful. "cut loose from the day" made me think of grown ups with our grind and routines, and children, like bright balloons, as you say, flying free of the walls we make in time
