First Attempts

These are the first batch of poems I came up with, all of them written in 10-20 minutes each :D

They try to describe various aspects of the world, generally problems faced in our lifetimes.

Darkness

From cubs to kids, all youth exists. All must grow, learn, suffer and strive. All must learn the fury of passion and the frost of hate. Feel the future from the horrors of the past.

A stroll

A cowards rejection. Writen in 4 minutes.

Bitterness

No-one escapes from life alive. It's the finality of all final's. People spend their life trying to fight death, only to meet it's door. Medicines, Machines, Safety and Health.

Eyes

The eyes, a curse of blessed nature They hold within an iron-clad grip of soft and sweet design a secret long lost to time A secret of burning fury and wallowed sorrow

Living in a war

Wings beat with furious intent Intent designed to drag the weight it carried Across to the distant lands of lore And rest it's tired head, sleeping eternal. Dragons and creatures of myth

Murder's fear

The drip of blood from the hand destroyed; The howl of pain from body torn asunder; The look on the face of torturer annoyed; No secrets revealed at the bodies blunder;

Unexplained

The unexplained in the eyes of the one you see The unexplained in the mind of the one you know It surrounds us, envelopes us, warms and freezes us.

Lowest of Life

Blood turns to dust with the crimson skies; Tears flow free through the streams of hate, As the fury of the damned passes us by In a breeze of torment and suffering lies

War

Emotion flies freer than blood, than water It binds us together, and drives us apart Pain and suffering, bringers of destruction and despair Love and Joy, messengers of hope and happiness

Storm

Thunder, rain, crash and pouring Seeking solace in earthen beds Light glints off metal dangers At which lightning roars past our heads See the tears rolling down Passed on by ethreal sorrow

Salvation

The faces you know, you recognize and memorize. They connect you to others, as others are connected to you. Without Blood or Bone you are Bonded as strong as those who you call your friends.

Necklace

Smells and sights of lust and love, give way to the passing of time All things must pass, to return again Reincarnation, or ressurection. An endless cycle, again and again

Eyelids

This dreary world of dark greys and blacks; In which people see only the darkness in life. They whinge and they complain, They spread their misery to others sorrow;

Failure

Failure. A beast that burns blood cold. It rears it's frozen head to glare. From the inside, it stares out at the one you've failed.

Safe Passage

Safe passage; A hope and a wish. We wish for safety on our journeys, large and small. We hope our passage will convey unmarked, untouched. We pray that blood shall not be spilled this day.

The Beast

Can the beast be tamed?

Emptiness

The final choice.

Errors

Conveying it wrong?

It's over

On this overhang I stand, a pile of unsteady rocks. On this cloudy day I see, a single ray of glowing sunlight. Standing below me, in this single ray I see,

Flying

I hear your wings beat behind me, wherever I go. Sometime ago, I tried to run from you. But however far I ran, or how fast I sped, You always were there, right behind me.

The old... and the bitter.

Politics. The most used words to describe, The iron shackles that bind our society. Our lives are governed by people we're not likely to ever meet,

My Birthday

Another orbit of the earth spinning round, Another cycle of the seasons. 16 cycles have passed since I entered this world; Kicking, Screaming and demanding attention.

Impending

Where does disaster lie?

Performing Live

It's difficult to perform live

Inside the flow

Inside the Flow

Rulers

Upon this table I dine with my emotions; Across from me, lust is sat, her tempting eye looking me over. To my left, greed seeks to conspire with me, plotting away.

Stereotypes

Non-stop motion, a continuous flow; The life of a teenager. Staying up late with mates, playing games 'n' chillin' around. Don't get me wrong, we aren't yobs of youth's.

Summer Holidays

Summer. A word taken two ways. If you ask someone older, they'll say, It's a time of heat, in the middle of the year. But to the contrary, you may ask someone younger.

Goodbye

In this pouring rain I stand, Whispering these quiet words to you. Aching to scream for you. I see pain and suffering, hidden in these teardrops of the gods. This cold, cold night we suffer.

Words

Wordsmiths. We craft weapons just as the Ironmongers do; We give power to the politicians and the leaders; We give words to the peacekeepers and lawbringers. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Destruction

In the end, will you give in?
